UF Health Florida Recovery Center therapists Lori McGruder, MEd/EdS, L.M.H.C., N.C.C and Erin Bogart, M.S.W., R.C.S.W.I. were recognized for their patient dedication at a January staff meeting.
One of Lori’s patients reached out to her after business hours one December weekend. Lori wasn’t on-call and could have redirected her patient to another clinician. Instead, Lori spent her personal time calling and emailing the patient to discuss urgent concerns.
“That signifies what we do here,” UF Health Florida Recovery Center Executive Director, Roxane Harcourt, L.M.F.T., said about Lori’s patient relationship.
Erin was also commended for working extra hours last month. Her focus was trying to meet the needs of a patient who required longer than usual family therapy sessions. Erin had to spend extra time out of her day to make sure the patient and the patient’s family got the care they needed.
“That is something I love about us who work here at FRC,” Roxane said. “Our general philosophy is that we are going to do what it takes to provide the best care for our patients.’’
