Residential Treatment Program
The residential treatment program is another step in drug or alcohol treatment. Our program provides individuals with 24-hour supervision and treatment in a home-like environment. This level of care is ideal for those who need closer monitoring while they continue treatment. People with other psychiatric or psychological disorders or those with medical complications tend to benefit from this level of care.
People in our program benefit from continuous supervision and treatment seven days a week. Participants have access to medical care, as well as a variety of fitness and wellness activities. Recreational therapy may include ropes courses, horticulture activities and cooking classes. People in this program will engage in group, individual and family therapy. They will also attend 12-step meetings and sober skills classes. The involvement in these types of activities is a key component on the path to recovery.
The residential treatment program takes place at the UF Health Florida Recovery Center in Gainesville, just minutes from UF Health Shands Hospital. This ideal location gives people access to UF Health addiction experts and other experts in a variety of medical specialties at UF Health. The campus features several apartment buildings, each with eight suites that can accommodate two to three people.
