Once a patient is admitted to UF Health Florida Recovery Center’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), he/she will be assigned a physician, primary therapist, buddy and roommates. The buddy will walk the new participant through the initial days of treatment.
In order to help the patient adapt to the treatment experience, he/she is restricted from using the phone, receiving visitors and leaving the campus during the first seven days in the program. Shortly after admission, the family member identified as the main contact during the treatment experience will be called to explore the impact the disease has had on the family.
The patient will meet with his/her primary therapist to develop a treatment plan with goals and objectives that address individual needs. These goals and objectives are developed based on family and individual history, social and environmental factors, substances abused, physical health and other factors. This treatment plan will challenge and encourage the patient to embrace a lifestyle of recovery.
